Book Review

When choosing a book to read, I am never the light, fun, funny type. Dark and tragic seem to be my style most of the time. Maybe it was the snap of cold weather, but I wanted something light, fun, and funny. The ladies at The Town Bookstore are always at the ready with a perfect recommendation - this time it was What Alice Forgot by Liane Moriarty.

The story takes place in Sydney, Australia, but it could happen in any suburb, anywhere. Alice Love loses her memory - ten years to be exact - forgetting her three children, SUV, manicured house, and oh yes, the horrible divorce she is going through with her husband. Alice thinks she is a newlywed, pregnant with her first child. She can't fathom why she is a super-skinny mom, constantly working out, drinking coffee, and dating the school principal.

Through Alice's point of view, there is much humor and heart to be had upon examining what her life has become. I still have some reading to do, but it appears even a mess of a life can be salvaged through the unexpected blessing of a memory loss. (I can"t wait to finish it!)

If anyone out there wants to borrow What Alice Forgot, you know where to find this t.
